Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation Establishes ARTMOBILE Tour as Memorial to Jeannette Rockefeller
The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has established a memorial tour, honoring the late Jeannette Rockefeller, former First Lady of Arkansas and an ardent supporter of the arts. State locations and organizations have been selected to receive a tour of the Arkansas Arts Center’s Artmobile. One of this year’s recipients is National Park Community College in Hot Springs.
The Arkansas Arts Center’s Artmobile, a 40+ft. mobile gallery displaying original works of art will be at NPCC’s north parking lot on Mid America Blvd., across from the Fisher Campus Center, March 15-19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“The Artmobile provides a quality visual arts experience that is great for schools, colleges/ universities, festivals, special events, museums, libraries, and because it is a mobile gallery, it is a wonderful way to introduce audiences to fine art in their own communities,” said Ned Metcalf, State Services Manager at the Arts Center. The Artmobile’s exhibition is available to be viewed on the Arts Center’s website: www.arkarts.com under “Touring Programs.” Day or evening hours may be set to accommodate school, public, or community tours. Check with local sponsor(s) on the complete schedule for this tour.

This is an exciting opportunity for education majors!
The Student Arkansas Education Association is preparing to form an S-AEA group on the campus at NPCC. This will be the first chapter on our campus, and now is the time to get involved and help us get this group started!
The chapter will be electing officers and will need a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer before the next Student Leadership Conference in New Orleans, LA this summer.
Rhonda Diles, S-AEA president and NPCC alumna, will be on campus to provide a brief overview of the benefits of this organization, discussion of election of officers, and goals of the group on:

Of an echo
Of a feeling
I remember

For the dying
Trying to remember

Girl is Alone,
Surrounded by bodies but cant see their faces.
Girl can’t Fail
What she thinks has won only lost her places.
Girl is Gone,
Giving herself here and there with nothing in return.
Girl cant Feel
Callus from each blow and forgotten how to learn.
Girl is in Need
She feels the empty spot and rushes to fill it.
Girl cant See
The only gain she had was herself and she killed it.
