For and About NPCC Students

Photo Submission

In the heat of the last day of the contest we failed to post two of the entries we judged. Although they didn’t win any tickets, we still think they are winners and apologize for not posting them in a more timely manner. . .

I was sitting at home the other night thinking about how important education has become in my life and so I picked up a pen and jotted a few lines down… I hope you enjoy!

Education is Life

by Kimberly Kassaw

Days of youth

Slowly slip away

Months turn into years

And memories often

Fade

That is why education is so important,

To focus and to believe

That anything is possible to those

Who maintain the desire to achieve

Life is a journey

Knowledge is a quest

Combine with a willing student

And education becomes the foundation for lifelong success

Friday’s Sun Belt tickets winner is Jason Hudnell

F I KNEW

If I knew I would lose;

I would not have tried.

If I knew sadness would come,

I would not have cried.

If I knew love could leave;

I would not have felt.

If I knew it would be this hard;

I would not have dealt.

If I knew secrets would be shared;

I would not have told.

If I knew the price of happiness would rise,

I would have never sold.

If I knew people had their faults

I would not have hated.

If I knew good things could pass me by

I would not have waited.

Jason Hudnell

Congratulations, Jason!

Dreaming
Of an echo
Of a feeling
I remember
From my childhood

Crying
For the dying
Trying to remember
To live

Alone
Is sadness
Madness creeps in
Bringing with it
Sorrow
Pain
Loneliness
Frustration

Reaching
Deep inside
My pride
Was my
Undoing

Knowing
The truth
I rebuilt
My life
Facing tomorrow
With a smile

Winner for Thursday will be announced shortly.
